can pug dog live in india with 116ºf normal temp in summer.?
hi dear, i wna ask sm thg abt pug dog i have listen that pug cant tolerate heat so can he live in india with 45 ºc of summer temp .
or how can i keep him comfertable . i cnt afford huge electricity bill for a.c for whole day. can u plz tell me wre u live and wts there temp,
and do u keep ur pug in a.c or normal . or does ur pug sleeps with u and does he snors (make load noise from nose while sleeping) .i hv seen many pug dog in my city so how can they live in such temp?? i hv also heard that pug goes over heat while playing with kids ,have u ever face any kind of problem with ur pug .plz tell me in detail (thnks a lot)
buy the why im from ludhiana and its normal temp is 40 to 49ºc from may to aug mid . can u tell me which toy dog breed is best for me in such conditions. thks in advance
Pugs being one of the brachycephalic breeds, needs to be an inside dog with temperatures to heat or cool the air. Any temperature over 70 or under makes it very difficult for the Pug to breathe properly due to it’s short nose. They cannot heat nor cool the air going into their lungs. If you plan on keeping a Pug you will need constant air conditioning for your Pug to be comfortable. It wouldn’t last outside even for a few minutes without severe difficulty in breathing and it could take it life.
About a Pug getting to hot playing with kids, that can be true if you let the kids run him around outside at all in hot air, the dog could suffer from heat stroke pretty quickly.
So in choosing a dog to live in extreme heat conditions such as you have in that country I would also remind you that no dog will be really comfortable outside in the heat however, some dogs are more heat tolerant than others. Such as a light colored smooth haired dog. Possibly a Chihuahua who likes the higher temperatures most of the time. There are of course other breeds that you might like, just suggesting one.
Any of the short faced dogs will definitely not be suitable nor dogs with extreme hair coats even though some hair coats protect the dog.
While I am sure there are lots of other breeds available there you must protect your dog from the heat at all costs.
